The Coronavirus/COVID-19 Pandemic forced many organizations to rethink their operations and programs. AYA’s programming provides hands-on workshops that were no longer feasible during the pandemic. While Distance Learning was an option, it is something that requires thoughtful planning, staff training, and time to implement affectively. AYA wanted to provide options in the short term and created the Online STEAM Program with activities students can access and complete from home.

As we move out of the restrictions of the pandemic we feel it is important to keep online activities available as an option for students who are unable to attend in-person workshops.

The STEAM Activity Instruction projects focus on using materials and supplies that are either available at home or easily accessible. These projects can also be completed in the classroom and tie into various curriculum subjects, holidays, and local celebrations.
